Personal Empowerment or just crazy...... !

What a fabulous sunny day here near Bournemouth and what a great way to spend it!!

My septic tank pump stopped working and with no one else around I said to myself "Yes Sue Stone, you CAN do it". I had managed to sort it once before so I can do it again!!

Not terribly glamorous I must say but a great sense of satisfaction when it started working again!

Very proud of my niece, Emily, who is 9 and came 3rd out of 75 in an inter-schools cross country race in Gloucester on 2nd March.

Well done Em!

Our Purpose in Life by a Tibetan Buddhist Monk

I had the great pleasure to welcome Geshe Lama Ahbay Rinpoche to my Positive Living Group of Bournemouth last Monday. He was recognised by the Dalai Lama as a reincarnation of a former spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhists. At present he is taking the full responsibility of Yega Choling Monastery, which is located in Tibet.

He travels to Europe on a regular basis on a mission to support the Monastery and to give Buddhist teachings and blessings.

Here is his message;

"All human beings have the same purpose. We are all looking for peace. We are all looking for a way out of suffering. Human beings do not need to be suffering, but through anger, hatred, jealousy, ego and pride we get a lot of suffering. Those negative actions are our enemies and they destroy our inner peace. For this reason we should work hard to reduce these negative actions.

Fortunately as human beings we have positive actions. There are many positive actions, but the most important are love, compassion, tolerance, patience and humility. We should work hard to increase our positive actions and this will minimise our negative actions.

How do we reduce these negative actions? Positive actions are the antidote to the negative actions. When we improve our love and compassion then our hatred and jealousy are reduced. When we increase our tolerance and patience our anger is reduced.

When we are more humble and have more humility our ego and pride are reduced. This is why we need to improve our positive actions and reduce our negative actions. In this way we reduce suffering in our life and also we get more inner peace. By practising positive actions we will get more inner peace and through ourselves then our family, our friends and our society will also get inner peace and more happiness in their lives.

A peaceful life, a happy life, a successful life and a meaningful life is our purpose as human beings"

The Pride of Coventry Awards

What a fantastic day and a great privilege to be asked to speak at The Pride of Coventry Awards yesterday, Friday, 18th February.

Kervin Julien won the Lifetime Achievement Award last year for service to his community. I met him when filming for television and he is an amazing man who has turned his life around and now dedicates his time to helping others.

We received a standing ovation from the 450 people listening. What an amazing day.

More will be revealed when our television programme is aired (April!) If you would like to be kept informed just sign on my newsletter and I will keep you posted!

Wow, wish I was there!

One of my twin sons, Rich, is out in California for six months teaching kids to ski. He and 8 of his friends have rented a fabulous house and they ski in Squaw Valley which overlooks Lake Tahoe. They are having an amazing time.

He's a great skier, but the photo of him jumping off the rocks is not one his mother (me!) really wants to see!! I have to trust that he will be fine, of course. Nick, his twin, is green with envy. He has not been able to go this year because he damaged his knee so badly last time he was there. He has had 2 re-constructive operations in the last year and is working on building his fitness up again. He plans to go out in March for 6 weeks to join Rich, but will definitely not be leaping off mountains this time!!
